We were in the middle of another heatwave when I started writing this month’s news. It was exhausting to see the wilting volunteers running our August Rummage Sale each weekend. Amazingly, we raised £1500 thanks to the many visitors who came to support us. Some of them were also interested in acquiring a new pet, much to Mum’s delight.
Thankfully the temperature is now bearable, just in time for our ladies to run a stall on the Green at the Cavendish Fete on 3rd September, open 1-5pm. The following weekend our £1 Sale will be held at the Stevenson Centre, Stevenson Approach, Gt. Cornard, CO10 0WD. Doors open at 11am on Saturday, 10th September, these sales are always popular so don’t miss it!
As the Christmas Fair is our last event of the fundraising season, and volunteer numbers have dropped, we have decided to temporarily stop accepting donated items. Some of our supporters sell online or privately throughout the year so if you have any special items for us, please leave a message on the answerphone or email sue.wilson317@btinternet.com before bringing them in. We will, of course, continue to accept CLEAN bedding and towels but NO PILLOWS, CUSHIONS or feather duvets.

We are still full up with cats, dogs and rabbits (lots of new arrivals) most ready for new homes and more waiting to come in, but we’re short of volunteers to care for them. If you would like help look after the animals and can spare one morning a week, please email your name and number to info@sesaw.co.uk or leave a clear message with your name and number on 01787 210888. Please speak slowly so anyone can hear your contact details, even a little chap like me, Kenny (the Boss) Chihuahua!
