Life can be up one day and down the next. Before the sad loss of our Queen last month, our ladies had a lovely day at the Cavendish Fete. They received a warm welcome from locals and over £200 was raised! Thank you to the organisers for inviting us, see you next year.

Another big thank you to all those who supported our £1 Sale at the Stevenson Centre in Great Cornard. Over £650 was raised plus a generous gift from an anonymous donor. Our bloomin’ marvellous Jeanette raised another £513.50 on her annual Summer Stall in her front garden. She filled the stand with a wide range of plants and other pretty items, much to the delight of passers-by. Jeanette has now turned her attention to preparing for her Terrific Tombola for our Christmas Fair on November 20th at The Old School, Long Melford from 10am to 3pm.
Autumn has definitely arrived as our thoughts turn to the Christmas Fair – a day not to be missed. This will be our last event of the fundraising season, and as volunteer numbers have dropped we have stopped accepting donated items until next year. Some of our supporters sell online, so if you have anything special, please leave a message on the answerphone or email sue.wilson317@btinternet.com before bringing them in. We will, of course, continue to accept newspapers, CLEAN bedding and towels but NO PILLOWS, CUSHIONS or feather duvets. We’re also grateful for fiction paperbacks and jigsaws.

Don’t forget to put your clocks back one hour before bedtime on October 29th, although I’m not keen on the idea – it could mean breakfast is served later than usual. And Ollie has asked me to remind everyone about Halloween, when he intends to keep a low profile. Not everyone is kind to black cats at this time of year, so please keep yours safe.

If you would like to help care for the cats, dogs, rabbits, guineapigs and chickens, please leave a clear message with your name and number on 01787 210888 or email info@sesaw.co.uk and please include a phone number. New volunteers can be sure of a warm welcome from all of us, including me, Kenny (the Boss) Chihuahua!
