Kenny’s June Blog:
Unheard of! Mum and Dad out for the evening in best bib and tucker. I couldn’t believe it until Buttons reminded me about the Babergh District Council Community Achievement Awards. Within minutes of their return, Mum swapped her framed certificate for a mop in one hand and a four week old kitten’s feed bottle in the other. A typical example of life’s ups and down in animal rescue, now I understand why Mum calls it SESAW!
As usual we have many animals awaiting rehoming but here’s a sad story with a happy ending. Little and large dogs, Prince and Duke were blissfully happy with a little girl and her family then illness struck. The humans had to give up their beloved pets. Fortunately they came to SESAW. After waiting eight long months the inseparable friends finally got a fantastic home with another adoring family. Judging by the photo, they certainly look comfortable!
My friend Betty from Washbrook was among over one hundred people who attended the first Open Day of the Ipswich Wool Loft at the old Courthouse, Civic Drive, Ipswich, IP1 2DX. Knitting, sewing and all manner of craft work was on display to showcase the variety of items made to help local charities. If you are interested, their next Open Day Is 28th June at 11am.
This month we are getting ready for a busy July, starting with a £1 Sale at St.Luke’s Church Hall (Church Street, Tiptree, CO5 0SU) 10.30-2.30pm on 2nd July. The Shelley Centre (Layham Road, IP7 5QY) has kindly invited us to its Fun Dog Show which opens at 11am on 9th. A few of our volunteers will be manning a stall (or should that be womanning?) in the Long Melford Street Fair from 2-7pm. The ladies have been soaked in previous years so a dry day it would be much appreciated! After that it’s all systems go for our Annual Open Day and Fun Dog Show, 12-4pm on 31st July. Already preparations are well in paw – a chap has to be careful where he walks with all the sweeping, shovelling and mowing going on. I think I’ll stay out of the way in the kitchen and wait for someone to make a nice cuppa tea for me, Kenny (Thr Boss) Chihuahua.
