Kenny with newsletter 9

Mum’s got babies all over the place.   Kittens in the kitchen, fledglings over the fireplace, ducklings on the dining table, all demanding yet another feed.   Just as they all settled down, a bunch of orphaned partridge chicks arrived.   It’s enough to drive a chap quackers!

Meanwhile the volunteers are preparing for the SESAW Open Day and Fun Dog Show, open midday on Sunday 31st July, 12-4pm.   Four hours of family fun and entertainment on “the happiest day of our year” as my human friend Sandra once said.   We hope lots of our rehomed canines will return to enter the special ex-SESAW dog class – or just to say hello.   Other classes include Best Puppy, Golden Oldie, Waggiest Tail, Most Appealing Eyes and contests involving sausages!   Everyone gets a reward even if not placed.

For the people, there will be food, games, competitions, our Wildlife Guru George Millins, food, stalls selling pet items, gifts, books, BBQ, did I mention food?   Old friends and new are welcome so enjoy the day, music from the Long Melford Silver Band and don’t forget to meet all the animals too.   Free parking, £1 admission. I’ll need a Kenmobile to chauffeur me through the crowds but I’ll steer clear of the Dog Show.   Mum says I’m in a class of my own. and they don’t have a “Most Bossy” category to suit me!

Before our big day, the Shelley Centre, Layham Road, IP7 5QY, has kindly invited us to it’s Fun Dog Show on 9th July, starting at 11am.   The next day, Sunday 10th, we will have a stall at the Long Melford Street Fair from 2-7pm.   The organisers have lots of family entertainment planned.

My goodness, I’ve no space left for animal news.   Never mind, if you can visit us on our “Happiest Day of the Year”, pick up a copy of our latest Newsletter and meet all the animals.   I’ll be checking all the marquees are up so we are ready to greet you, whatever the weather.   Now, I wonder who will be looking after all those sausages?   I’m sure there must be one or two put aside for me, Kenny (the Boss) Chihuahua.
