It’s time to thank the wonderful people who support SESAW in so many different ways. Every person and every deed is appreciated; those who care for the animals, carry out maintenance, donate handmade or purchased items, visit our stalls at outside events or organise their own events like Susan Vousden who raised £260 by organising an Autumn Charity Talk about UFOs in Little Clacton.

Our stalwart fundraisers have carried on selling throughout another difficult year, both at events and privately via friends, Facebook and online but last month they pulled out all the stops. Jeanette raised over £415 with another of her every popular Terrific Tombolas at the Bridge Farm Festive Fair in Monks Eleigh.

Lorraine squeezed two Tiptree events into November. She organised another ‘pop up shop’ outside Don Tyler Opticians which took £400 and raised a further £280 with a stall at the Community Craft Fair. Sheila and Elaine also doubled their efforts by taking over £200 at the Long Melford Christmas Community Market and £100 at the Leavenheath Christmas Fair. They also received a generous donation for SESAW at Long Melford, a special thank you to the anonymous donor.

Still to come if you read this in time is another of our dynamic duos, Jayne and Karen, who will be offering pet products and handmade crafts at the Winter Market in Langham Community Centre car park, School Road, CO4 5PA on 5th December. Joan and Keith finish the year with their decorated submission to the Rotary Xmas Tree Festival at St. Gregory’s Church, Sudbury, on behalf of SESAW. The Festival takes place from 7th to 11th December.

We hope to hold sales again in 2022, Covid restrictions permitting. Please leave a message on our ansaphone or email if you would like to help at events. Applicants to help with animal care are also welcome if you can commit to one morning a week.

Copies of Frank Payne’s book, “Here Today, Goon Tomorrow” are still available, an ideal Christmas present when combined with the next instalment of the Author’s biography, “Well Worth Waiting For”. Frank details his wartime childhood, National Service leading to his career as a Sports journalist. Phone 01206 263006 to order the two volumes for £10, all proceeds to SESAW. You can also meet Frank on 4th December at the Polstead Village Fair where he will be available to sign copies of his books. Further details on our Events page.

We do not rehome animals over the Christmas period so we will be closed from 10th December to 10th January 2022 except for emergencies. One last big thank you to Karen, Dawn and Abbie for giving us a presence on the internet via our website and Facebook pages. Season’s greetings to everyone from my feline friend, Ollie and me, Kenny (the Boss) Chihuahua.
