Here we are again, at the end of another year, approaching another festive season. Apologies for my unenthusiastic intro but like everyone at SESAW, my little heart is very heavy just now. It’s difficult to be cheery as Mum’s dear husband, Ron, passed away recently. The two of them started animal rescue decades ago, right here in their own home. A gentleman in every sense of the word, Ron was always quietly working away in the background, and always ready with a smile and a kind word.
My canine pals, Barney, Daisy and Tyler who were Dad’s constant companions, are nearly as inconsolable as Mum but everyone has been very kind. The response from the local community, friends and SESAW supporters has been overwhelming. A heartfelt thank you for all your messages which have been a great comfort to Mum at this difficult time.
A Thanksgiving Service to celebrate Ronald’s life will be held at St. Mary’s Church, Stoke by Nayland on Friday 10th February, 2017, followed by a gathering at Assington Village Hall. Times to be confirmed. Everyone will be welcome at this event, which will take place two weeks before Ron’s 89th Birthday.
Meanwhile SESAW is closed until next year, except by prior appointment and the wonderful Volunteers are working hard to keep the Sanctuary running as smoothly as possible. Despite our sorrow, animals in need continue to arrive. If you are looking for a family pet or companion to share your hearth please get in touch and someone will contact you as soon as possible. Meanwhile, best wishes for a happy, healthy and safe Christmas from me, Kenny (the Boss) Chihuahua.
