Fudge came to us from a lady who had many cats and who therefore needed to reduce the numbers. Fudge was heavily pregnant and successfully weaned her kittens at SESAW – all were homed. The lady who manages our website – Karen Fisher of Cast Your Eye – fell in love with her immediately upon seeing her photo and came to collect her as soon as she was able, which was after she had been neutered.
Karen says:
I fell in love with Fudge at first site and I knew she would be perfect for our family because she had come from a lady with many grandchildren, so was used to a lot of noise and commotion. Not that we’re too bad, it’s just that we have four young kids so needed a cat with some resilience! Fudge settled in immediately and also coped brilliantly when we moved 200 miles away just a few months later. She is the most chilled, laid back cat I have ever known and loved dearly by us all.
When we first got Fudge she was quite underweight, having left her environment pregnant, weaned quite a large litter and then undergone surgery. We used to (affectionately) call her ‘Hot Rod’ because her rear end was significantly higher than her head – or at least it appeared that way due to her body weight being low. Not the case now! She filled out beautifully and has a lovely, thick, shiny full coat.
She is an extremely good ‘mouser’ (sadly for the local wildlife) and absolutely LOVES sunbathing!
